Ethos AI is a powerful tool that allows you to take existing documents such as PDF, Word, or Powerpoint files and convert them into Lessons, Quizzes and Tasklists.
**Note: if you don't have this feature enabled, please contact your Ethos manager for more information on how to add this feature to your account.
To get started, log into the Ethos Admin Portal, and click on Explore in the left hand menu
From the Explore window, select whether you would like to create a new Lesson, Quiz, or Tasklist from a file.
Regardless of which type of content you are making, you will be prompted to import a file. Currently, Ethos AI can support .pdf, .pptx, and .docx files.
Once uploaded, you can open the Advanced Options to specify how many Lessons/Quizzes/Tasks you would like, or let Ethos decide. Depending on the type of content you are building you may have other options, such as including Knowledge Checks when building lessons. In addition, you can add any custom instructions for the AI to follow.
Once generated, you can review the AI generated content, then click "Save All" on the top right menu to a New or Existing course.
Once saved, you can go into the course and edit the content to best suit the type of Course you want to provide.
Previewing Templates Before Generating a Lesson or Quiz
Before committing to a full lesson or quiz generation, you can preview how your content will look across different templates. This makes it easy to compare styles and pick the one that works best for your material — before any processing begins.
How Template Preview Works
- Start a Lesson from a Document or Quiz from a Document workflow and upload your source file.
- A split-panel preview screen will open, showing three sections side by side:
- Left panel — a list of available templates to choose from
- Center panel — a phone mockup showing sample cards generated from your document in real time
- Right panel — the relevant excerpt from your source document used to generate the preview
- Click any template in the left panel to see how your content looks in that style. All templates load their previews at the same time, so switching between them is instant after the initial load.
- Once you've found the template you want to use, select it and continue with full generation.
| 💡 Tip: Each template card includes guidance on when it works best — and when you might want to choose something else. If you're not sure where to start, Standard is a safe, balanced choice for most content. |
